POLES LOST: 2 FISH KEPT: 63
Well we only lost 2 poles this year. Not too bad, that's about average. Unfortunatly, we didn't go out quite that much this year. This was also Kliffs last year at the river. Hopefully Eric, Aaron, and myself can haul in some good ones next year.

Not a good day. A few bites but that's all. Kliff nailed 2 10 pound blues a few days before. I recieved news of 2 poles that were lost this year. That's about average. so fare we managed to nail about 24 keepable fish. The river was about 8', and shad was abundant. This has been a good year for shad. We have yet to buy bait with shad readily available and our worm hole doing good. We still have a few months to go, I hope it picks up.

Kliff and Eric went out today, while I prepared for a party my wife was throwing. Though that evening they brought their trophy by, or the remenance of it. They managed to keep and clean a 17 pound cat. Once again this season the fish were biting, and they said that they bit real hard. With heat indexes over 100 degrees I can believe it. Once again the shad were going mad.

First day in a while we’ve been out. The river was down a bit. Eric and myself foraged for worms, about 2 dozen of ‘em. We think they either escaped or died because we ran out. I managed to bring in a 7 pound channel cat, though. Tons of bites, just wish we had the worms. The shad were going crazy, guess I’ll need to invest on a net of my own, and quit relying on Kliff. I say the remains of a gar today, that someone caught and threw up on the beach. Guess there are some non-cats biting this year.

Didn’t go out, but Kliff managed to haul in 2 channels. One was about 5 lbs. The other about 6. Water’s been down, so that is defiantly a good thing. Not much toss away fish this year. I haven’t seen any gar, bass, drum, buffalo, or even carp.

Not much to report. Kinda slow. Felt a couple nibbles, but nothing wanted to come in. First trip of the season, so I guess I can’t complain too much. I started kinda late this year, but oh well. The water was pretty muddy, and high, but that’s expected.
